Month’s nearing its end. I’m happy to be alive. Life is good.

Normalcy

I do believe that things are slowly going back to normal. Never mind that 1-week Gustav ”hurrication” I had in Florida where I was again thrown off track after more than a month of cultural and environmental adjustment.

Ask why I think things are slowly going back to normal..Well, for one thing, I’ve reverted to my sometimes-moronic self (am I hearing many times??). Like buying that hair iron at Walmart thinking I screwed them for getting it at the awesome price of $6. When I got home, I found out it was actually priced at $20! I wanted to return it because I was thinking how stupid they were for putting it in the hairclip section. But then I remembered my hair badly NEEDED hair iron. So I now have a long, shiny, ironed-flat hair <flip it!>

I’m hoping though that my so-called blog passion will return to normal too.

My Gustav Account

So what if our (sis and her husband) New Orleans holiday was cancelled because of Gustav? I had a holiday anyway. A hurricane holiday.

1am on that Sunday before Gustav came, I climbed my sis’ SUV for the supposedly 8-hour drive to Florida (yes..I was trying to escape Gustav). I said supposedly because as it turned out, it seemed like half of Louisiana population thought an early morning drive will escape the grueling traffic of mandatory evacuation. So..the 8-hour drive turned 15! Man..my could hardly feel my kneecaps when we got to Florida!

So, now..a week and 5lbs later, I’m back to my apartment in Baton Rouge. Aside from the fact that I’m getting awfully fat…my sister’s house became a safe haven for me. I did nothing there but shop, eat, dine-out, sing videoke-style, went online and sleep. But it was good. Plus, I got to eat at Hooters. 

I’m ready to lose weight now. Good thing the school is returning tomorrow..
