Why I Love Laminin ;)

There are some things that I never get tired of, books that I read a hundred times, places I go to for the nth time and videos I watch over and over and over…
One of these videos that I watch almost everyday is brother Louie Giglio’s (of Passion Conferences)How Great is Our God talk. It’s so amazing I wish I could share to you the whole of it. I watch it so many times but I never get used to the awesome way the Lord has created everything in this universe!
He basically talked about the greatness of God in His creation–stars, earth, universe, human body…but the thing that really blew me off was LAMININ.
Colossians 1:17 says: He (Christ) is before all things and IN HIM ALL THINGS HOLD TOGETHER.” Now, that’s a really powerful passage if you ask me. Now, where does laminin comes in to?
Laminin is a cell ADHESION protein molecule. It’s like a tiny, weeny molecule that glues our body together. I know that wasn’t so amazing since there must be some scientific explanation why our body parts doesn’t fall off anyway. The amazing thing was when he showed what laminin–the cell adhesion protein molecule– looked like. I mean…WOW!
Right after I finished watching this video for the first time, I quickly looked up laminin in google to see if what I saw and heard in the talk was true. And it was! Anyway, here is a scientific diagram of laminin I got from google search:
Isn’t that amazing?? The thing that HOLDS our body together is the very symbol of the Savior who delivered us from all sins, pains and doubts?? Louie Giglio then showed an actual picture of laminin sent to him in microscopic slide by a molecular biologist who introduced him to laminin. It was real and it was great! It IS great!
What are the chances that out of the million replicas and symbols in the world, something out there chose the symbol of the CROSS to HOLD our body together. Colossians 1:17 is no longer some figure-of-speech bible passage for me. Literally, Jesus, my Jesus..HOLDS me TOGETHER..What more can I ever, ever, ever need?

I was amazed when I watched the video that Louie Giglio has preached. He says that the Laminin protein molecule is a Amazing Wonderful thing that God has created in the human body.I say to myself Wow! it’s so amazing when I saw the picture that it looks like a cross and it holds the skin and the other parts of the body.he also says that it’s like Jesus he hold everyone,love everyone,saves everyone,and didn’t forsake anyone.I was really amazed and the whole congregation was amazed to in our Church.I wish that he could go to our church here in the Philippines and preach to us.

a friend mass mailed part of the vid on facebook. i’m no biologist but imo, the cross seems quite a common ‘configuration’. its not like the molecule is spelling out ‘Jesus’. a loosely made association imo.

Laminin is one of those awesome things that shows how much God cares and how well he planned the universe. (check out Genesis 5 it’s also pretty cool and shows God’s Amazing plan, way way way in advance. Note: Figure out what the names mean, you’ll see what I mean), When I first heard about Laminin it was in a lesson about how no matter where you go you can’t escape God and how astronomers were going to the depths of the universe looking for clues about our whereabouts, now this really got me, 31 million light years away is the whirlpool galaxy (M51(NGC5149)) and at it’s core is a cross, The science community calls it the X core but it’s a cross!! Search for it at hubblesite.org, it is pretty cool!

Your response above (based on wikipedia, not a credible source for a scholarly debate) leads me to ask you a couple of questions:
What is it that’s holding you together?
Can you trust it with your life, no matter what?
Does it show you how much it cares for you?
If you don’t have good answers for these questions, there are several of us who have posted here who could introduce you to the One who loved you enough to die in your place so that you wouldn’t have to face eternity separated from Him…
Ask, seek and find. He’s there and He loves you.

I have just been watching the DVD by Louie Giglio and am amazed by the way God has created us. That we are fearfully and wonderfully made. I have always appreciated that the Godcreated the heavens and the earth and everything that is in it.
Today I was amazed that the of the molecular structure of Laminin is in the form of the cross on which the Lord Juses Christ was crucified.
I thank God for continuing to reveal the deep and hidden mysteries of his kingdom and our body structure. I will continue to praise his name.

Im getting a tatoo of that over the wooden cross with “My life for He who gave His life for me” writen in aramaic down the side. I wrote that in the ICU after nearly falling to my death in a paragliding accident. The Lord was merciful and now I can tell my story. Although my spine was broken with 6ribs, leg and teeth, Jesus allowed me to suffer 8 motorcycle wrecks as well getting to know Him. Now every time im in the ER, i get a chance to tell them what else Ive lived through. God is SO good.

Oh cmon people it’s called a coincidence, and a terrible one at that.
As was said above, these molecular diagrams are meant to simplify the image so it’s easier to digest. The protein isn’t made of light pink and yellow bulbs and snake-like blue things forming a perfect cross. Have you ever seen this thing under a microscope?
Also, look up the protein Porin and then look up the celtic “triqueta”
Why would your god model the protein basis for organic chemistry on a Roman torture device? Is this where the scientific proof for Christianity has gone…to the dark corners of a chemistry textbook in which science seeks to explain life based on reason and the scientific method. First it was irreducable complexity and that was shot to hell. Now this.
Please re-examine the strength of your beliefs if this is what you have to rely on.

Well..obviously, I don’t usually respond to comments in this entry since I know that as much as many of us are in awe of Laminin, many would try to question it too..as you do.
The thing is..the strenght of our (Christians) beliefs does not rely on Laminin. The strength of my belief relies in one thing and one thing only–that Jesus died for my sins.
The pain He went through isn’t what my belief is about either. It is the realization that He who was perfect went through the pain of being separated (for a while) from the Father just to bear the sins of the unlovables.
Discovering laminin is just a bonus. Besides, I don’t have to go that deep in my body to get in awe with God’s creation. The fact that I’m alive is so wonderful enough.

God is just so Good! If you want to join a wonderful non-denominational Bible Study. Google ‘Community Bible Study’ and take a look see. Classes are all over the USA and in 17 countries.
It is wonderful. We studied the Book of Revelation last year.
It is once a week for two hours and goes the school year.
They have a wonderful children’s program from Birth to School age and some have home school student attending. I joined
14 years ago. I drive 40 miles roundtrip and believe we, it is worth every mile. Try it! you will like it! This was our first morning
of the new school year and we watched this videio. Wish everyone could see it.

This was the most amazimg thing that i have ever seen, i saw his movie this morrning at church and it was so empowering. It was so incredible what god can do. That part of his movie was so wounderful and unbelieveable that i didnt want to hear another thing about it because it was so great and so much to take in. Im so amazed, I have already shown both of my parents and they were also amazed but they didnt have the same reaction as i did. It was just so unbelieveable i can hardly stand it !

i’ve seen the video just in august this year and it really blew me off as well…and whenever i keep coming back to see laminin is just amazing. just before i post this comment i’ve read a few comments from people who say GOD didnt exist and they backing it up with all scientific fact from scientist and books…so the word of GOD is right about the false prophet which i consider as the atheist scientist who is telling the world that we need to believe in them because they have the facts…the word of GOD is on Revelation and it even say they that in the end time we will see stuff from supernaturals and scientist cant prove that cause they only base there study on naturals yet most people in western world believe them so we christian we really need to go out there in the world like what GOD says on Matthew 28 and follow his instruction which LOVE our GOD will all we have and i mean all we have and LOVE neighbours as you love your self. if you love them as you do to your self so you dont want them to fall in to satans hands isnt it…so guys be the disciple that GOD want you to be…

Watched the video for the first time about 4 months ago. Bought all of Loui’s DVDs, and have shared them with churches and individuals. I don’t need the laminin to prove anything. But to my Christ-oriented mind, it does show me that He knew me BEFORE the foundation of the world, knit me together in my mother’s womb thousands of years later, and didn’t forget to put in the protein “rebar” that would hold my cells together. Indeed, it is His cross that makes the difference in my life! Thank you, Father, and thank you, Lou, for alerting us to this awesome picture of God. Only the fool says in his heart, “there is no God.”

Pretty wild. Our church showed the video recently and now I own all of Loui’s DVD’s. I like the video about the planets. I have gone through quite a shaking in the past year, but God always pulls me through. One thing God showed me about a year ago, was just HOW BIG He really is, by letting me know how big the Universe is, and how very small I am. It put everything into perspective, and made all my troubles seem so insignificant, and allowed me to see that God really does care about me, even though I am way down here, and even though I’ve made a mess of my own life. He STILL cares!

All things, not just our bodies are hedlr together by the power of God in some amazing way. Just because someone saw a depiction of a protein, laminin, that had the apparent shape of a cross, though I have also seen it depiucted in another form baed upon Greek mythology, we have thbis mad rusdh to believe a new theory.
Let’s just get back to the Bible. Believe the simple gospel, of reading \God’s word, developing faith from that, repenting of our sins, confessing Jesus as the Son of God and being immersed in water for the forgiveness of our sins, and leave this mythological stuff where it belongs, in the world.

i watched the video at school , arundel in zimbabwe it was very touching nd it put me back on track with God it just showed me God greatness and made me appreciate the fact that god is with me at all time it is just so unbelivably wonderful that Jesus is literally in me and holds me together!!!!! its also amazing that i got to watch it becausbably hard to find here in zimbabwe it just shows me that God is by far the coolest .this assured me of Jesus` presence

A friend gave us the DVD’s to watch and all I can say is how could anyone watch these and the scientific evidence and not believe in God? I just can’t wait to share them with the whole church. I’m also inviting those who do not know Christ to my house to view. Pray for them and God is with me.

For all you nay sayers that say this is just “coincidence”. God has left us an abundance of evidence to prove what His Word says. Yes, God is wonderful!!! He is almighty, and yet He humbled Himself and died on the cross for our sins, because He loves us so much. The people who reject Him will be without excuse when they stand before Him; because they see His glory in everything, yet they reject Him. I just wanted to say if it wasn’t for God I would’nt be alive; I would have nothing to live for. He turned my life around. He gave me everything, His peace, Joy & Love! We all have a choice ~ either to give Him Praise or to reject Him.

Praise him, yes laminin is amazing, but i think we are losing sight of what is truly important i agree partially with Edwin Sineath this is begining to sound like idolatry, we must never forget who created this, it was God, our amazing savior, this is a promise to hold us together, and to hold us to him, this is proof that God is in control and just another reminder of how great the star breather is, but also how personal he is and how we can all have a great relationship with him, i remind you that louie did not call this his main thing, he called it his left hook but not to sound like i know everything, does anybody know where i can watch it online, i have to see it again

It’s really not that I’m idolizing laminin (I only speak for myself). It’s just too awesome of a reminder that God will never ever leave me because he “hem me in” (Psalm 139:5). It’s wonderful to know that beneath all this skin is a promise that he will always hold me together.
