Thief
“Death is a distant rumor to the young.”
–Andrew A. Rooney
There’s no use wishing I could have said more than just hello to you. We are not even friends. But I was sad when I heard you were gone. You were so young, so full of life. Just last week you woke up, went about your business and probably planned what to do this weekend.
You and I never had a clue that you won’t live long enough to attend church tomorrow. Death stole you like the thief we both know that he is.
Tonight, I will not grieve for your sudden death but I will toast for the start of your new life.
Here’s to you and to your plans not met–may someone know about them and do them for you.
Here’s to your halted dreams–may somebody remember yours and make them come true for you.
Here’s to the Christmases you won’t see–may you have fun with the Celebrant this Christmas and beyond.
Here’s to the roads your bike will no longer take, drinks you will no longer sip, dinners you will no longer enjoy..and above all else, I toast your freedom.
Goodbye, my friend. You are finally free.

Better Hit the Hay
Why is it that I can’t come up with a Big Thought when I badly needed it?? I have to think and think fast. Topic for research writing due tomorrow and I’m sitting here clueless. Rats.

Planner
I am going to be someone’s mother or wife who totally forgets birthdays and anniversaries. Five days ago, my blog turned 1 month and I totally missed it! Go back to that entry and you’ll see not even a hint about it.
Bad Sass. Bad.
I’m a chronic late comer anyway so I’m sure you’ll understand this late toast for our month-long partnership. So… here’s to more of our mad rambling, serious kaks, neurotic fantasies and shameless grammatical errors. You are absolutely worth piddling about.

Plus, today’s another reason for me to be happy. If you’ll look at the date you’ll see why. Life’s starting to feel normal again.
Today’s sing along song: Friday I’m In Love by The Cure
Mental Note: Mum mentioned a memory enhancer pill a couple of nights ago. Got to check it out.

An Open Letter to Mersan Driver
Dear Mersan Transit Drivers,
We need to chat. You and me. Square and fair. A womano a mano. You behind the wheel and me in a seat behind you (or on a street getting as far away from you as possible).
We need to talk about me finding it hard to co-exist with you on this planet. I want you to know that you are not driving in an ideal city. With your bus and your skill as a driver (or lack of it), you should be driving in a road where no one (animals included) will feel threaten. Say, Mars? Or Jupiter if you find Mars a tad smaller..
If you look at our road and the way our intelligent honchos in DPWH designed it, you will notice that it is not meant for bus racing (i made up that term).
Driving a vehicle bigger than a car or a motorcycle or a bike may give you a feeling of moral superiority but…the law of the road absobloodylutely applies to you, too!!!
You may feel that you are a better driver just because you can drive 120kph without crashing a post but you are in danger of killing bystanders or yourself. Are you even aware of that?? And much as you make my blood boil, I don’t actually want to see that happen to you.
Slow down on sharp curves, use signals and follow the road signs and mind the sidewalk and consider every breathing soul that are within your peripheral vision!
And get enough sleep! I caught you almost drooling in the drivers’ seat, gringo!
